Chad D. Petross
Attorney

Originally from Vernon, Texas, I completed my undergraduate work at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas in May of 2002.  I subsequently graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu, California in May of 2006.  I have been licensed to practice law by the Supreme Court of Texas since November 3, 2006.  After being licensed, I began work as an attorney in private practice, primarily in the practice areas of family law, criminal defense, and probate.  I was employed as an associate attorney at the office of Schenk, Schenk & Haines in Wichita Falls, Texas from February 2007 through September 2013, when I opened The Petross Law Firm in Weatherford, Texas.

I have extensive experience in family law litigation, both inside and outside the courtroom, including jury trials, bench trials, appeals, mediation, collaborative law, and informal settlement procedures.  I have the ability and expertise to manage your family law case from start to finish.

In 2013, I became board certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

The remainder of my experience has been in the areas of criminal defense and probate.  As a law student, I interned at the Denton County (TX) District Attorney's Office, so I have witnessed the practice of criminal law from the prosecution side and have practiced from the defense side.

I have also done litigation work in probate, as well as drafting wills and powers of attorney, for those who are looking to protect their property and make end-of-life decisions.
